Lost Pines Toyota Partners with The Salvation Army to Distribute Food Boxes

Local Families in Need to Receive Practical Support During Day of Service Event

Bastrop, Texas (January 11, 2021) – Lost Pines Toyota Lexus Minority Owners Dealers Association (TLMODA) is partnering with The Salvation Army on a Day of Service to help individuals and families in the Bastrop community who are struggling due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. 200 food boxes will be delivered to local families on Friday, January 15.

The Salvation Army has experienced heightened need in communities throughout Texas as the long-term effects of the ongoing pandemic impacts many families already struggling to make ends meet. Reduced wages or loss of employment has become a part of life to many and the decision on whether to pay outstanding bills or put food on the table is a reality to many. The food box distribution from TLMODA and The Salvation Army will provide non-perishable foods to feed a family of 3-4 days including pasta, rice, canned vegetables, soup, peanut butter, and snacks. Each box will also contain a selection of toys and a $25 Walmart gift card.

“We are always thrilled to collaborate with community partners and businesses as we work to serve the needs of the community,” said Anthony Torres, from The Salvation Army. “This is the third time that the Lost Pines Toyota Lexus Minority Owners Dealers Association has partnered with The Salvation Army in the last 12 months and we are so appreciative of their practical support. The help given to those in need will help feed children and families who continue to struggle through the pandemic.”

Food boxes for residents of the Bastrop Housing Authority (BHA) will be delivered to the BHA office, located at 502 Farm St, Bastrop, on January 15, 2021 at 9:30 AM. Lost Pines Toyota Staff will deliver the boxes to residents at 10 AM.

“Families worked hard during Christmas to maximize the resources that they had to bring some cheer to the end of the year. Now in January, we know that the bills don’t stop coming in and there is a lot of need out there,” said Carlos Liriano, Dealer Principal at Lost Pines Toyota. “That’s why we’re stepping up with the Day of Service event partnering with The Salvation Army to make sure struggling families can have a good start to the new year.”
